The Christmas countdown probably started on July 24, the day after Fiona's birthday. She was so incredibly excited . . . for presents. Presents, presents, and more presents. (And treats.) What kind of presents? Oh, it didn't matter. She just wanted big, beautiful packages to open and more STUFF. At one point I said to her when she went on another rant about presents for HER, I responded, "Do you know what the best part about Christmas is? Being together with our family!" She said, "Oh, yeah. I forgot!"
We were in Maine for a week with the Erickson clan. There was lots of cousin time, lots of beach time, treats, a zoo visit, amusement park rides, and so much more.
Four egg hunts and two chocolate bunnies later, Easter is but a memory. No bunny ears for Fiona this year, but she and Rowan got matching stuffed orangutans, a few pieces of candy, and Fiona got tights for ballet class. The adults decided to skip egg dyeing this year because it just seemed like too much potential for fun gone awry (cracked eggs, messy dyes, tears), and no one was petitioning for it. Fiona just wanted egg hunts and candy, and that is what she got.
