Another surprise? Finding vomit in his crib the other morning. It was a one-off fluke, fortunately, but the poor boy still has his double ear infection from last month and Fiona has an ear/sinus infection. You can imagine the snot flowing around here. But thanks to antibiotics for her and Zyrtec for him, their chapped noses and upper lips are on the mend and Dada and I don't have to wash our hands quite as frequently.
What Rowan lacks in the teeth department, he makes up for in hair. Dada gave him a pretty decent haircut the other day -- decent considering the kid preferred to spontaneously throw his body around as Dada came at him with the shears. Incredibly, no one was injured in the process.
Here he is with his new 'do:
The drive home was a messy one. The typically 2-1/2 hour drive took 4-1/2 hours in the snow. Both kids were extraordinarily patient, sleeping for part of the trip, and entertaining themselves the rest of the time -- Fiona by singing or playing Angry Birds, and Rowan by taking off his socks and playing with his feet (or something -- he still faces backward so I wasn't ever sure what he was doing. But he was barefoot when we arrived home). Thank goodness for our happy travelers.
