Four egg hunts and two chocolate bunnies later, Easter is but a memory. No bunny ears for Fiona this year, but she and Rowan got matching stuffed orangutans, a few pieces of candy, and Fiona got tights for ballet class. The adults decided to skip egg dyeing this year because it just seemed like too much potential for fun gone awry (cracked eggs, messy dyes, tears), and no one was petitioning for it. Fiona just wanted egg hunts and candy, and that is what she got. Below, Rowan in his Easter bonnet: The fourth and most creative of the egg hunts took place at Stone Barns Center in Pocantico Hills, NY (near Tarrytown). The eggs were not hidden well at all, but inside them were hidden all sorts of neat things (no candy!), including seed bombs. We are excited to plant them once it gets a little warmer. While at Stone Barns, we saw geese, pigs, sheep and baby lambs (and a very protective sheep dog), and chickens. Also, many expensive cars and hipster parents, but I digress. It was a fun trip. Rowan is sitting up for longer and longer stretches, usually able to catch himself with his hands when he starts to topple. He leans forward a lot, reaching with his arms, but no real signs of crawling yet. I shall enjoy this stage while it lasts. There's a lot of grunting and growling going on in this house. Rowan squeals and yells and cries, but mostly he growls. He is man baby, hear him roar.

Loved the pic of Fiona on Daddy's shoulders and noticed the pink coat.
