Also impressive? She's reading more and more. I got her a pre-1 reader from the library, and she was able to make out many of the words without even thinking about it. Run, see, simple words like that. Very exciting. She still loves to read with Dada at bedtime, though. Last night she sped her way through putting on pajamas and brushing teeth (usually drawn out) so that she could have a bonus extra book with Dada. Books are serious business.
Gymnastics has ended and Dance Around the World concludes this weekend. While she enjoyed them, she wasn't keen on continuing for another session, so she's opted to return to ballet and try a class called Imagination Dance. I mentioned that Fiona takes dance to her preschool teacher, and she responded, "Thank God! This child must have music flowing through her. She's dancing all the time." Good to know! Yesterday, while I was a shark/sea monster named Seymour chasing mermaid Fiona around the backyard, she sang a narration of the whole thing, complete with rhyming couplets. So I'd agree with the "music flowing through her" assessment.
And here's video of our boy experimenting with the power of refusal.
New words:
Choo-choo! (Rowan loves trains, and now he's decided that most vehicles say "choo-choo")
Doo-doo (Noodle)
You (Shoe)
Rowan's gym class will wrap up tomorrow, and we'll start swim class next week.
