Another hurdle was learning how to ride a bike. Last summer, we took the pedals off Fiona's bike and she became excellent at balancing and coasting, but was terrified of the idea of putting the pedals back on. Bolstered by her lacing victory, and eager to ride on a beautiful spring-like day, she let Brian put the pedals on, and, lo and behold, quickly figured out how to pedal.
Two big developmental accomplishments in one weekend! Woohoo! And then Tuesday swim class came, and Fiona insisted she was too scared to swim. I told her teacher, who gave me a wink and said, "I'll talk to her about it." After class, Fiona didn't want to admit that she'd enjoyed herself, but she made it clear that she had. Funny girl.
