-Rowan smiles a lot and makes this wheezing pig-in-heat sound when he's excited, particularly when climbing the stairs.
-His favorite syllable is "ma," which may mean "more," may mean "mama," may mean nothing at all. Or everything.
-He takes an hour to eat lunch, and he eats the entire time without stopping.
-He laughs when Fiona does something funny, and when she yells at him to STOP laughing at her, he laughs some more.
-He stomps when he crawls, slapping his hands down hard on the floor.
-While the Rowan Wiggle has sort of faded, he does still shake his head to music or just when he's being silly.
-He hugs back -- really wraps his arm around my neck. The. Best.
-He vocalizes while sliding his tongue side to side, like some people mindlessly whistle or hum.
-He's into everything. EVERYTHING. Leave him to his own devices for 20 minutes and he will trash a room. Don't bother putting anything on a surface he can reach because it will be on the floor in short order.
-Music soothes/distracts him. If he's fussy in the car, turn on the radio. If he's fussy in the house, turn on the radio. He seems to enjoy the oldies and classic rock stations; he listens, watches, and wiggles while Fiona and I dance around the kitchen.
Both kids go to the pediatrician on Friday for their check-ups. Stats to follow.
In the spirit of nostalgia, here's another before and after. One year ago:
"No! Zombies move slowly!"
"That's not a giant's voice!"
