Welllllll, perhaps that's about to change.
I have mixed feelings about this. I am so pleased that Fiona is growing up and functioning and doing all of those things that kids should do as they get older and smarter and more mature. But there are some things that Fiona says incorrectly that I will miss when they are gone. Like "take dressed" instead of "get dressed." Or "gunning" instead of "going." And today she was looking for the second "hawkie talkie" (walkie talkie). But these, too, will go the way of "bobbum" (bottom) and "nilk" (milk). Ho hum.
Also on the curriculum: vowels and non-vowels. Brian found a great pre-k reading app for the ipad that he's been playing with her. They focus on beginning sounds and ending sounds of words.
Randomly, here's Rowan with our prize melon (and a mosquito on his cheek?). We grew it. Unfortunately, none of us love melon that much, so it's become a bit of a chore to eat and it hogs all kinds of space in the fridge. I puree it and mix it into Rowan's cereal or Fiona's smoothie. There's another one ready to pick in the garden. Any melon-lovers out there? Note: postage would be prohibitively expensive.
