At school, they had a parade, and then the Pre-K class performed a few songs. Fiona was excited to lead her class onto the stage.
Later, when we headed out for a friend's party and trick-or-treating, Fiona decided to retire her antenna and wings, transforming into a straight-up vampire. Rowan begrudgingly donned his Batman costume that I managed to get onto him with the promise of snacks. He refused the mask but wore the belt and cape. Clearly, he wasn't too traumatized. In fact, he really enjoyed trick-or-treating, waddling up to the doors and yelling "trick or treat!" We brought the stroller but didn't end up using it. As Rowan plowed along the sidewalks holding one of our hands, he sang the Alphabet Song; I imagined he was whistling while he worked. He didn't seem to understand *what* it was that people were putting in his bag, he just enjoyed the process. It was only once he saw Fiona eating candy that he got excited and wanted to dig in, too.
