Music: Songs she learned from playing Just Dance with her cousins ("So What" by P!nk, "Call My Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen); "Happy" by Pharrell Williams; anything from the movie "Frozen." Mimi turned her onto some tunes by King Singers that sound like sea shanties, as well as to "Cotton Eye Joe" by Rednex, a hillbilly tune set to a dance beat. She heard "Centerfold" by J. Geils Band on the radio one day and immediately declared that she LOVES "Angel on a Center Pole." Disney songs are still popular, but they aren't on the top of the list like they used to be. She frowns upon "kid" music like Raffi and Music Together albums.
Books: Fiona devours books. She's taken to "reading" aloud, which she does very well because she seems to really absorb the texts when we read to her. We've entered the world of chapter books courtesy of "Fancy Nancy," and she read her first graphic novel ("My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic"), but mostly we read picture books and "Zoobook" magazines.
Toys: 12" dolls, namely Monster High, Ever After High, Equestria Girls, and good ol' Barbie. I should point out that these have merely been an obsession until yesterday, when she got her first Monster High doll.
Activities: Fiona colors with crayons and coloring books a lot. Also likes sticker books. Loves her hip hop class; declares that she is an "excellent" soccer player ("aren't I?") though is not at all interested in joining organized sports. Can usually be found dancing and/or singing. She prefers showers to baths, though she will not turn down a bubble bath.
TV: Barbie shows/movies; Wild Kratts; My Little Pony.
Language: She uses excellent words, like "portrait" and "grin," but also continues to have a hard time with past tense, adding "-ded" to the end of most verbs. She "takes" dressed instead of "gets."
Fashion: Fiona wants her hair long long long! Like Rapunzel. She adores this one purple camisole-type shirt and 3/4-leggings, though dresses and skirts remain popular. She dreams of owning an unlimited wardrobe, but she's nevertheless happy with cousin Lauren's hand-me-downs.
Personality: Fiona loves to laugh and make people laugh. She's a performer. That is not to say that she is extroverted, but she certainly gets a thrill out of being the center of attention. We've discovered that when Fiona's upset often she just needs a good hug. The fuse burns brightly and quickly. Fiona is concerned about doing the right thing and following the rules, but she can also be bossy and demanding. She's learning to be a great big sister. Sometimes she hugs Rowan and squeals, "HE'S JUST SO CUTE!"
