A quick post to say how proud I am of my children. First, the kids and I went to our local zoo on Friday. We rode on the carousel and Fiona opted for the okapi, reason in itself to be proud. Fiona suggested that I (with Rowan strapped to me) should ride the penguin next to her. The carousel was pretty empty so I figured there was no harm, so I climbed aboard. And then I realized that Fiona normally insists that I stand next to her with a hand on her because she's a little nervous. But she didn't need any help. Now *I* felt nervous. She was belted on and was holding on with two hands, but I worried that she might slip. Of course, she was fine and perfectly at ease. Such a big girl. Rowan was none too keen about napping yesterday. Just wanted to be held and didn't have a proper nap all day. Ole Dr. Weissbluth says "sleep begets sleep," so Brian and I were nervous at bedtime that it was going to be a rough night. But our main man R slept from 10 pm until almost 6 am. Yep. Eight hours at eight weeks. That's what I call dreamy. Clearly we're raising child prodigies.
